Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, also known as Ashanti, was born on 13 October, 1980 at Glen Cove New York United States. She's an actress and singer of in the United States. Her talent was first noticed in her teens. The singer signed with Murder Inc. Records, in 2002. That same year, she was featured in Fat Joe's What's Luv? Also, she was featured on Fat Joe's song"What's Luv!" as well as the Ja Rules' track Always on Time and Ja Rules track Always On Time, both of which were huge hits. When she released the single, What's Luv which ranked at the second spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and Foolish at number one and Foolish being her first single, she was the first female to reach this feat. Ashanti Shequoiya is better known as Ashanti is a native of New Yorker born in Glen Cove, New York on the 13th of the 13th of October in 1980. Tina Douglas' mother was an instructor in dance as was Ken-Kaide Douglas. The father of Ashanti Douglas, had been a vocalist. The oldest of the three is the Kenashia Shia Douglas who is younger sister. Douglas named Ashanti to honour the Ashanti Empire in which women had power and influence. Act One's MC's"Like They're Not Known" and 8 Off's Ghetto Woman. Ashanti's career as a musician was hindered due to her lack of the heights she desired after being contacted by record companies like Bad Boy and Jive. She continued to perform throughout New York, and she started to visit at the Murder Inc. studios hoping to get a break. Ashanti began as a back-up vocalist on Big Pun's song, How We Roll. She also appeared on Fat Joe's"What's Luv?" Ja Rule's Always on Time and Fat Joe's Where is Love. On her first song, Foolish and Foolish, the DeBarge song Stay with Me from 1983 is sampled. Ashanti has released her debut album, which was titled "Ashanti", in 2002 on Irv Getti's Murder Inc. Record Label. The Declaration the fourth studio album was released 3 June 2008. On the 16th of October Hey Baby (After the Club) was released on radio and digital outlets. She starred in the film Christmas in the City and as Latasha the character Montclair from Army Wives. Her track Rock wit U was sampled by British rapper Aitch for his song Baby in March 10, 2022.
